At HAYLEY 247 DEXIS, we believe that even the most heavily worn components deserve a second chance. Recently, we took on a challenging refurbishment project involving a set of severely degraded auger screws and transformed them into fully serviceable parts ready for action.
The Challenge
When the augers arrived at our facility, they were in rough shape:
- The original prortective coating had significantly deteriorated
- The screw flights were heavily worn down
- The sprockets were beyond repair and no longer serviceable
It was clear that a comprehensive refurbishment would be required to restore them to working condition and to do it all in-house.
The Solution
Our multi-skilled team set to work using a fully integrated, end-to-end process – the kind of job HAYLEY 247 DEXIS is built for. Here’s what the refurbishment involved:
- Shot blasting the augers back to their base materials to remove all contaminants and degraded coatings
- Overlay welding the flights and finish-machining them back to their original diameter, restoring both structure and functionality
- Removing and replacing the sprockets with brand-new components
- Applying a Belzona base coat, followed by a ceramic top coat, to ensure long-term durability and resistance to wear
The Result
Thanks to the skill and commitment of our team, the auger screws are now completely refurbished and ready to return to service. With renewed structural integrity and a protective coating designed to withstand harsh operating conditions, these components are set for extended operational life. This project is a great example of the value HAYLEY 247 DEXIS brings to every refurbishment job – high quality work, completed efficiently, all under one roof. A huge well done to the team for their craftmanship and dedication to excellence.
