THE SITUATION
A heavily corroded vibrator assembly gearbox, essential to a recycling facility’s material-handling process, arrived at our workshop in poor condition. Years of exposure to abrasive materials and harsh operating environments had taken their toll, leaving the unit contaminated, worn and at risk of mechanical failure.
To keep production running smoothly, the client needed a complete refurbishment, carried out to a high standard and designed to ensure long-term reliability.
THE SOLUTION
The Hayley 24/7 engineering team undertook a full overhaul, applying precision machining, component renewal and extensive corrosion removal to restore the assembly to as-new condition. The refurbishment included:
– Extensive cleaning and shot blasting to remove built-up contamination and surface corrosion
– Machining worn shaft journals and manufacturing new input couplings to restore accurate fit and performance
– Replacing all bearings, seals and fasteners with high-quality components for extended service life
– Lock-wiring fixings to protect against vibration loosening and enhance operational reliability
– Applying a durable RAL 6011 Reseda Green finish with added corrosion-resistant detailing
Each stage was completed in-house under strict quality control, ensuring the assembly not only met original specifications but delivered improved resilience for future operation
THE RESULT
The refurbished vibrator assembly gearbox was returned to the customer fully restored, visually renewed and ready for demanding service in a recycling environment. With renewed components, strengthened fixings and a protective finishing system, the unit is now equipped for long-term, reliable performance.
