The Situation
A NASH 2BE1505 liquid ring vacuum pump was received for overhaul after inspection revealed internal corrosion, worn gland packing components, and damage to the drive-end bearing housing. To ensure reliable future operation, the pump required a comprehensive refurbishment and the restoration of several critical components.
The Solution
Our engineers fully stripped and cleaned the pump before carrying out a detailed inspection. New gland packing sleeves and bearing retainers were manufactured, while the damaged drive-end bearing housing was reclaimed through precision machining and sleeving.
The impeller was repaired where required and dynamically balanced to G2.5 at 1480 RPM to ensure smooth, reliable operation. The refurbishment was completed with the installation of new bearings, seals, gaskets, and packing components before the pump was rebuilt and prepared for service.
The Result
The comprehensive refurbishment restored the NASH 2BE1505 vacuum pump to a reliable operating condition. By repairing and reclaiming key components rather than replacing the complete assembly, the overhaul provided a cost-effective solution while ensuring the pump was ready to return to service with renewed performance and reliability.
